Selling a Monarch Beach Home During the Holidays

The holidays are right around the corner, at while that usually means joy and excitement for most people, the holiday season can put sellers in the Monarch Beach real estate market and Dana Point real estate market into a panic. Most people know that the market slows during the holidays – and when you’re already in a slow market that means that things can nearly stall completely during the month of December.

So the question is, do you take your home off the market for the holidays and try again in January or do you push through, decorate your home for a festive showing and hope for the best? While the ultimate answer rests in your hands, most experienced Monarch Beach realtors will tell you that taking your home off the market is not the answer. Instead, try using the Christmas season as a way to showcase your home like never before. You can decorate lavishly and make your home seem more inviting for the showings you do have – you’d be amazed at how a few poinsettias, a beautifully lit tree and the smell of fresh baked Christmas cookies can sway a buyer in your direction.

If you want to learn more about selling your home during the holiday season, check out the December issue of my Monarch Beach Real Estate Update. As always, give me a call at 949-240-3308 if you have any questions about buying or selling a Monarch Beach home, Dana Point home or Laguna Beach home.
